Protected and Notable Species Surveys

A wide range of legislation covers the protection of our native species and their habitats such as the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended), the Countryside and Rights of Way (CROW) Act 2000 and the Habitats Regulations 1994. In addition local planning authorities are increasingly requiring surveys for Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) Species and Habitats. To survey for many species a licence is required and Greenwillows Associates staff holds the full suite of necessary licences. Over and above local planning permission, development licences may be required to permit the construction to proceed. We can assist in securing such a licence as well as delivering the mitigation works required.

Our range of protected and notable species surveys include:
  • Badgers
  • Barn Owls and Other Schedule 1 Birds
  • Bats
  • Biodiversity Action Plan Species
  • Breeding Birds
  • Dormouse
  • Great Crested Newts
  • Invertebrates – including Terrestrial & Aquatic Species, Dragonflies, Moths & Butterflies
  • Natterjack Toad
  • Otters
  • Reptiles
  • Water Voles
  • White Clawed Crayfish
  • Wintering Bird Surveys (to include Spring and Autumn Migration)
